Production of 2 large offshore cable carousels for Aker Solutions commenced
Aker Subsea AS has ordered 2 portable 23 m diameter cable carousels incl. loading gear for transport of umbilicals.

M/V "Elektron", Statnett's new Ro-Ro vessel converted to Cable Layer
M/V ”Elektron”, converted to Cable Layer for subsea cable laying and trenching at Drammen Yard in June 2009 under cable loading at Halden, Norway for Nexans Norway AS. 1,200 tons Offshore Cable Carousel of basket type for top loading together with cable line, new 50 tons SWL A-frame, A&R winch, new mezzanine decks, new crane, HiPAP, and additional living quar-ters installed, designed and fabricated by Drammen Yard (July 2009)
New Contract secured for 1,250 tons Offshore Cable Carousel
Drammen Yard has been awarded a contract for the supply and installation of a 1,250 tons Umbilical and Cable Turntable and Loading gear by Saipem Energy Services, Division Sonsub (part of Eni). The Carousel and Loading gear will be installed onboard Saipem's Lay Barge "Caspian Spider" in Spring 2010.
